This is from earlier in the year but I had to make a post about this one. I giggle whenever I think about it.

Bad grammar is a daily part of life. From Facebook posts, to texts, to tweets, to strange southern slang, bad grammar is a quirk of human linguistics. We hear words and sentences strung together in a certain way and if heard enough, we think it’s the way it’s supposed to be. The above tattoo is a perfect example of that hearing of bad grammar enough. The tattoo originally read “The World is Mines.” The client was young and his friends convinced him that was the proper form of the saying. The proper way to say this is “The World is Mine.”  This was made clear to him by a teacher one day. A few years later and a solid tattoo session helped clear that minor boo-boo. He asked for the quote to be inserted into a banner, an M16 and AK47 rifle and it all to end with a rose at his wrist… I had to hand draw this one on, no preplanning because of that quote. Remember people, proper grammar and spelling helps make sure you do not look like an idiot.

This was created with a 9 supertight liner, 17 bugpin curved magnum and kuro sumi and tribal one pass black ink.

Tip: Conversing with the client during preparation helps calm their nerves if they are nervous. Nervousness equates to pain, which equates to squirming, which equates to ugly results with the tattoo. Be sociable and make the client laugh. Laughter has been scientifically shown to help ease and curb pain. And if you’re not a funny sociable person… well… damn…
